This Privacy Policy explains how ScatterBrainz (“ScatterBrainz,” “we,” “us”), a product of Innovative Fabrications AV, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and website.

The short version: We collect the information needed to run your family’s account (like your email and the family data you add). We don’t sell your data. Screenshots you submit to Snap to Calendar are sent to our AI provider only to read the dates, and are not stored. Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address, used to create and secure your account.
Family content you add: the information you and your family enter into the app — such as calendar events, chores, meals, lists, rewards, and family member profiles — stored in our database (Google Firestore).
Sign-in information: when you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive basic profile information from that provider to authenticate you. We do not receive your password.

Snap to Calendar

If you use Snap to Calendar, the image you submit is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, solely to extract event details (such as dates and times) so they can be added to your calendar. The image is processed and then discarded — we do not store the screenshots you submit, and our AI provider does not use them to train its models. Only the extracted event details are saved to your family calendar.

Notifications

We use a third-party service (OneSignal) to send push notifications, such as reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

How we use your information

To provide and operate the app’s features for your family.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To send notifications you’ve enabled.
To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Children’s privacy

ScatterBrainz is a family app designed to be used by the whole household. Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian, and children use profiles within a parent-managed account. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts or provide personal information directly to us. If you believe a child has provided us information without parental involvement, contact us and we will remove it.

Service providers

We rely on trusted third parties to operate the app, including Google (Firebase/Firestore and Google Sign-In), Apple and Facebook (sign-in), Anthropic (AI processing for Snap to Calendar), and OneSignal (notifications). These providers process data only as needed to provide their service to us.

International users

ScatterBrainz is available to families in multiple countries. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account information and family content for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date.
